How did you get into the field that you are in today?
I was signed to a record label DEADLY WHEN EXPOSED after getting recognized from simple Cypher freestyles and battle events. Being a social person I got to know the owners, promoters, and just attendees of these events. Asking me to assist with their next shows. I became an event planner myself as well as the #1 host in Central Texas. Mr Redd Daundadawg
What do you love most about your profession?
I love the people. When a person doesn’t know who I am. It’s on me to let them know who I am in the words of king t’challa mother lol. But 8 times out of 10 that person now follows me, supports me, and even begin to love me.
To see how many people react to whatever I do there’s just something surreal about that Toon.
Tell us more about what you do?
In the central Texas area I have 4 different clubs/ spots that I use to throw events and artist showcase. I allow artist from local to major get access and headline their own event. Doing this for the past 5 years has got my name in majors directions. I have hosted and assisted shows for: MYSTIKAL, LIL RONNY, MYKFRESH, SVPASTAR, PASTOR TROY, THE SWISHAHOUSE OGS, SLUMM PRINCE, BRICK WOLFPACK, RIZZO RIZZO, TSF, QUINN NFN, 1017 BRICKSQUAD, FABBO, ANITA BAKER, AND much more. When did you discover that you had a passion for this field?
Rapping wise I have always been able to make sentences rhyme in my head. It was in 5th grade when a friend of mine said to rap while he recorded me to a bone thugs n harmony beat. It wasn’t till I lost my football scholarship to college when I decided to take it seriously and got with DEADLY WHEN EXPOSED RECORDS(D.W.E RECORDS).
Who in your field do you look up to inspire to be like or admire and why?
I never been inspired to be anyone.
However my favorite artist I’ve always listed to was DMX, SNOOP, NO LIMIT RECORDS, BIGGIE, E40, UGK, SCARFACE, and any rapper from the Screwed up click and Swishahouse. I am born and raised in Texas.
None of us would be where we are today if it wasn’t for some form of mentorship or free game being dropped on us. What gems do you have to give to someone looking to get into your field?
Be ready for criticism, know that in order to make money you’ll have to spend money.

How was it growing up? Was it always or were there struggles? What are some of the struggles you had to overcome?
No struggles for me except the normal poverty side and being broke lol.
I mean there’s gangs, killings, and all that in my area just like everywhere else. I guess it’s crazy to say I just adapt and learn to live with it.
Everyone I know or meet seem to come to the conclusion Mr Redd cool he just here living life.
How important is family and friend support? Do they support your business?
Family supports the business
Friends support the music.
There’s millions of people in this I can’t allow the feeling of just 1 or 2 non supportive when there’s plenty plenty that will. Its just my job to make them know who I am and what I do.
What would you tell a younger you about life?
Save your money and get rid of those so called friends you think there for the long haul. No one is going to give you anything but you definitely will work and get it all!

My mom
