What is your profession?

Artist/ Creative

How did you get into the field that you are in today?

I was working at a warehouse for 5 years then got fired so I wanted a change. A friend of mine had been trying to talk me into picking up a camera for the longest! After being fired, I had nothing to lose. So, I gave it a try and discovered that I really loved being behind the camera.

What do you love most about your profession?

I love to use my creativity and to make something basic into something phenomenal.

Tell us more about what you do?

Every project is different, and I love this aspect because it keeps me on my toes. Therefore, I must stay on top of my game and continuously learn and better myself to provide my clients the best product.

When did you discover that you had a passion for this field?

I have always liked music since I was a kid and not necessarily the artist and songs you hear on radio and TV. Conversely, they have always been drawn to the underground scene where these artists have more hunger and drive. As I watch their music videos on YouTube and other platforms, I always thought to myself, how cool it would be to work in the entertainment industry. Lo and behold, at the right timing in life, I happened to fall into the industry the moment I picked up a camera. To top it off, I was able to work with some of the artists I admire and grew up listening to, right at the beginning of my career.

Who in your field do you look up to inspire to be like or admire and why?

There isn’t one particular person I look up to because everyone has a distinct style. Therefore, I study the work that I like and take those aspects and modify it with my own style to create something special for my client.

None of us would be where we are today if it wasn’t for some form of mentorship or free game being dropped on us. What gems do you have to give to someone looking to get into your field?

Networking is key!

How was it growing up? Was it always or were there struggles? What are some of the struggles you had to overcome?

I grew up in big family in the south part of Fort Worth, Texas. There were absolutely struggles, everyone struggles! The most important thing to remember here is not allow the struggles to consume you. I would give myself time to understand my struggles then figure out a way to overcome it. Overall, having mental strength is extremely important nowadays, especially if you want to be successful.

How important is family and friend support? Do they support your business?

family supports all that I do, and any support is great support! Ultimately, the fact that I believe in myself means much more. This is my own business and my own career; I must handle whatever comes my way so I can continue to stay on the path to success.

What would you tell a younger you about life?

Listen to your gut! It truly is guiding you to the direction you need to go!

Who inspired you growing up and why?

Since I didn’t realize my talent until I got older, therefore, my inspirations are simply from studying other peoples’ work that I enjoy watching. After careful analyzing, I would intertwine those styles with my own style to create my own.
